Sierra at Tahoe Resort Lift Tickets

Sierra at Tahoe Resort has several lift pass options including Lift Tickets and Season Passes. Below is a breakdown of the lift passes and the key differences between the passes.

Lift Ticket

The day lift ticket and the Sierra’s 3-PAK lift tickets can be purchased at the ticket office and online. If purchased online, you will need to pick up the lift ticket (RFID card) with your printed QR code at a pickup box located next to the ticket offices in the base area. This is almost always the most expensive option as you are purchasing at the last minute. 

  • Mountain Access: This ticket will give you lift access to Sierra at Tahoe Resort.
  • Days Valid at Sierra at Tahoe Resort: Valid for the set days you’ve purchased the ticket. 
  • Ideal for: Unplanned ski vacation or a last-minute day trip to  Kirkwood Mountain. 

Multi-day lift tickets can be used on non-consecutive days. 

Season Pass

  • Unlimited Pass: This pass offers unlimited access to Sierra at Tahoe Resort plus 3 free days at each of the other 21 Powder Alliance Resorts with some restrictions. Other benefits include unlimited BFF lift tickets max 2 tickets daily, bringing a friend for free on selected Fridays and getting 20% off on-mountain purchases. 
  • Play Pass: This is the same as the Unlimited Pass except you cannot ski on blackout dates and you only get 12 BFF lift tickets.
  • Weekday Pass: This pass entitles you to ski Monday through Friday except for blackout dates. Other benefits include 10 BFF tickets and 20% on mountain purchases.

Sierra at Tahoe Ski and Snowboard Lessons

  • Adult Group Lesson (Ages 13 and above): There are 2 types of lessons available, the Adult Learn to Ski/Snowboard and Adult All Mountain. Adult Learn to Ski/Snowboard lesson is the half-day (AM or PM) beginner lesson package, which includes a 2-hour lesson, lift ticket and equipment rental. The Adult All Moutain lesson is a half-day (PM) or full-day lesson catered for intermediate to advanced skiers and riders. The 2-hour lesson can be purchased alone or as a package while the full-day lesson only available as a package. The 3-PAK lessons are also available for both adult group lessons.
  • Pioneer/Explorer Program Lessons: This is a group lesson for ages 4 to 12 of all levels. There are full-day lesson packages, 3-PAK or 10-PAK lesson packages available.
  • Private Lessons: Half-day or full-day lessons for ages 4+ for all ability levels. The lesson price is for up to 2 people, for an additional participant, there is a $75 charge per person. Lift tickets and rentals are not included.

Some important things to note:

  • Lessons are subject to instructor availability, reservation request forms must be submitted 48 hours in advance for private lessons and lesson programs, and group lessons are recommended to book ahead.
  • All prices are subject to change. The prices of the lessons also vary depending on the dates, the most expensive being holiday dates.

Nearest Town to Sierra at Tahoe Resort

The nearest town to Sierra-at-Tahoe is South Lake Tahoe, California, located on the border of California and Nevada. South Lake Tahoe is approximately 16.4 miles from the resort, a 20-minute drive away. 

In addition to Sierra at Tahoe, the town is within a short drive of several other ski resorts, which makes it a great base for those who want to experience different slopes. These include Heavenly, Kirkwood Mountain Resort and Palisades Tahoe (Squaw Valley), a former Olympic site, and Northstar California are also within a reasonable driving distance.

On Mountain Dining

Sierra at Tahoe Resort has several highly-rated on-mountain dining options.

Located at the top of Grandview Express Chairlift. This BBQ joint offers panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and provides a variety of smoked meats and home-style side dishes.
