Mount Rose Ski Tahoe Overview
Mount Rose Ski Tahoe is located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, close to Reno and Lake Tahoe in Nevada. It is known for its high base elevation at over 8,000 feet and as a result, good snow conditions. It is also the closest resort to Reno than any other major Lake Tahoe ski resort, which contributes to its local appeal.

Mount Rose Ski Tahoe Lift Tickets
Mount Rose - Ski Tahoe has day lift tickets and season passes. Below are the differences between them.
Mount Rose offers 3 types of day lift tickets. They can be purchased online or in-resort. Children ages 5 and under tickets are only available for purchase at the resort.
- Full Day Ticket: This ticket gives you a full day access from 9 am to 4 pm.
- Morning Half-Day Ticket: This ticket gives you access from 9 am to 12:30 pm.
- Afternoon Half-Day Ticket: This ticket gives you access from 12:30 pm to 4 pm
Mount Rose also has daily special lift ticket offers.
Mount Rose has 4 types of season passes that suit different preferences. All passes includes on-mountain discounts.
- Premier Pass: This pass gives you unlimited and unrestricted access to Mount Rose throughout the ski season.
- Value Pass: This pass gives you unlimited access to Mount Rose except on holiday dates.
- Off-Peak Pass: This pass gives you access to Mount Rose on Mondays to Fridays and weekends except during the peak months of January and February.
- My Pass: This pass gives you the choice of one weekday access to Mount Rose throughout the season except on holiday dates. For example, if you choose to Tuesday, then you can ski on every Tuesday during the ski season.
Mount Rose Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Mount Rose Ski & Ride School offers group and private lessons as well as ski teams.
- Group Lessons: The children lessons are for ages 6 to 12 for all skill levels. Adult group lessons are only for first-timers and is available as a bundle including lift ticket, lesson and rental together.
- Private Lessons: This half-day lesson are for ski only. Lift ticket and rentals must be purchased separately.

There are no ski vacation packages to Mount Rose - Ski Tahoe. That said, there are ski vacation packages to the popular destination resorts in Lake Tahoe.
In general, February to March is when it is the snowiest at Mount Rose. It is also good to avoid the holiday crowds from Christmas, New Year’s, and Martin Luther King Day for a better mountain experience.
A one day standard ski or snowboard package costs $50 for adults and $30 for children aged 15 and under. Helmets are an additional $10 per day.
