Powder Mountain in Utah is just like its name – a haven for powder skiers. Powder Mountain feels private, uncrowded, and unbelievably special as they limit ticket sales to 1,500 skiers a day! Powder is owned by The Summit Group, an organisation of brilliant business minds, tech startup entrepreneurs, billionaires, artists and band members that purchased Powder Mountain Ski Resort in Eden Utah in 2013. This impressive group of startup owners, nature goers, and party throwers have unveiled their Powder Summit ski village concept, but the ski area will continue to be authentic, all natural snow. It is humble but huge – 8,400 ac including 2,876 lift served acres (9 lifts total) plus 507 ac cat skiing (at $25 a ride) and 5,081 ac accessed by a hike or served by shuttle bus when you ski beyond the lifts. You get the drift, Powder is special and has been since 1972.

Big. 8k acres. Tree skiing at its best. You can find powder stash’s easily a week after last storm. Tickets under $100. Old school atmosphere. Cat skiing provides access to steeps and hiking up James peak. Double black diamond powder runs. Amazing Dec - Feb. Go when it’s snowing for the ultimate powder day.... More

Badass nobody is there sick terrain! Parking at the top of the mountain is unique. Would absolutely recommend over busy crowded resorts closer to Salt Lake City. Even after a few day old storm lots of pow to still shred!... More

It’s worth the extra drive north. Snow quality and quantity equal to the Cottonwoods but much less crowded, can find yourself alone on a Powder day. Great terrain variety, I think over 5000 acres of skiable terrain. Cheap snowcat and Heliskiing options. Not much lodging or nightlife but it’s about the skiing right.... More

Powder Mountain might be my favorite place in Utah. It's very local friendly, has great atmosphere, the people that ride there are outstanding, and typically is never crowded. Overall not the steepest or most challenging but has some great stuff if you're willing to hike or pay a bit extra for the cat ride. Time a powder day and you'll be stoked... More

When i first showed up to the resort i was greeted by a staff member and directed where to buy lift tickets. When we were ready to go a guide asked if we have ever been there and i never have. He then had us follow him to show us around and the bar and the tlreaort was tons of fun many great people... More

I don't really know or care about the lodging or apres ski activities. All I care about is skiing and Powder Mountain has consistently good skiing. It's not the biggest. It's not the steepest. But it is consistently good.... More

no town - not much cheap lodging, long drive from airport but not real bad, some great off piste skiing, needs base lodge music entertainment and apre ski scene - currently there is not much at the base area. Lift tix are not too expensive. Great snow, not crowded, lots of terrain options if you know your way around the mountain but much of it is... More

This is a throwback; something truly special. The snow is deep when it dumps and untracked for a while. Powder Country, and the bus ride, are one of a kind. Access to the freshies from both sides of the road (makes no sense till you're here to ski and experience). Won't get huge vert due to lifts, but all quality. Plus, if you're feeling it, take...
